EAST FORT LAUDERDALE. Located in the Galleria, this revered place is a perpetual favorite with the expense-account crew. Although it's best known for its upscale dining, Capital Grille also sports a busy after-work scene, when city movers and shakers mill about the bar, finishing up business and entertaining clients. Martinis are a signature, and they're perfectly mixed and served. Great wines are also available, along with food service. Since the socializing doesn't go on incredibly late, it's possible to meet-and-greet and have time for a late dinner afterwards in the dining room.

LAS OLAS. Step through the revolving doorway, and it's evident this steakhouse aims to be the biggest and best. The swanky bar features hardwood floors, a black curved countertop and stools, and the impressive dining room is filled with tables that accommodate large and small groups. On the periphery of the room, the abundant salad bar offers a variety of specialty salads such as bean, potato, Caesar and soy, and side items might include mashed potatoes, tabbouleh, soups, cold cuts, fruits and veggies. Top sirloin, lamb, chicken wings, ribs and several cuts of beef highlight the main dishes.

EAST FORT LAUDERDALE. No question about it, this enchanting waterfront steakhouse exudes luxury. Located in the Hyatt, Grill 66 offers balcony dining that overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. The menu offers popular appetizers such as crispy shrimp and calamari, filet mignon carpaccio, and a charcuterie platter. Main course offerings include lobster, crab cakes, veal and lamb chops in case a strip steak, filet mignon or porterhouse doesn't do the trick. Artfully prepared potatoes and green veggies provide a satisfying accompaniments to the meat.

LAS OLAS. Clubby decor and decadent cuisine await diners at this luxurious steakhouse. Chill out in the cocktail lounge, your favorite drink in hand, and listen to cool live jazz. If you're particularly particular and willing to spend for excess, Jackson's also features private lockers for storing wine and cigars. During the day time, the exclusive Four Fifty Club serves a lunch member's only lunch for local business leaders, an exclusive crowd to be sure.

DAVIE. Located in the heart of Davie, the Kansas City Steakhouse & Grille is a real treat. After trying the generous portions and experiencing the excellent service, you will want to come back for more. The decor is mid-Western, including the requisite comfortable booths made of dark wood. The staff is helpful and prompt but what really stands out is the fresh hand cut Black Angus Steaks, crisp salads, and perfectly prepared fish dishes that will have you ready to return.
